New focus on The Venetian at Vegas expo and convention resort
The Venetian seaside resort announced a name change and other updates to its 209,031 m² convention and exhibition center, the largest privately held convention center in the United States. Las Vegas Sands Corporation sold the Sands Expo, Venetian and Palazzo complexes along with its other Las Vegas properties in March, as the company focused on Asia.
From September 2, the names of two places will change:
- The Sands Expo & Convention Center will be called The Venetian Expo.
- The Venetian Congress Center will be called The Venetian Convention Center.
George Markantonis, President and COO of The Venetian Resort, said, âAlthough their names are changing, you can expect the same unparalleled service from our team members at these locations. “
Chandra Allison, senior vice president of sales for The Venetian Resort, added, âIt’s great to have bookings for our meetings business so strong as we look into the second half of the year.
This year, The Venetian Expo will host several of America’s top 25 trade shows, including ISC West, HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, JCK Las Vegas, and American Urological Association.
In addition, the resort has started to book its new meeting room of over 743 m², The Stella Studio.
The Venetian Resort has also launched its Venetian Meetings Virtual Planner®, a tool for MICE professionals. This app allows guests to customize and search locations before contacting a resort representative. In addition to providing the dimensions and capabilities of each location, the Venetian Meetings Virtual Planner offers users a virtual tour of the locations and provides overview videos and photos. Once a user has determined their event space, they are able to design a configuration to suit their needs, in two and three dimensions, and attach the custom layout to the RFP.
